And then there were THREE. After days of challenge and resilience, three students have been chosen as winners of our Amazing Shake competition. Congratulations to Charlie Confer, Skylar Carter, and KeMyia Willoughby.

The competition ended today at the Fox 56 News studio where finalists were interviewed by a group of Fox 56 news reporters and anchors. The winners have qualified for The Amazing Shake national competition in Atlanta.

Throughout the program, students practiced essential soft skills that ideally embody our Portrait of a Clark County Learner. Each round pushed them to think critically, present themselves authentically, and communicate meaningfully.

We could not have provided such elevated experiences for our students without the tremendous support of our community. From volunteers and partners who served as judges, to businesses who allowed us to use their facilities, to staff who dedicated hours encouraging and mentoring, the success of this week reflects a true collective effort.

Thank you to RDC Media Makers teacher and former Fox 56 Assistant News Director Melissa Hounshell for setting it up, and thank you to the Fox reporters for taking time out of their day to interview our students.

Congratulations to ALL participants, and a special round of applause to our three winners! We are incredibly proud of everything handshake and every individual and collective “win” that made this week special.
