Henry Baker Intermediate School has earned the Family Friendly Schools certification for the fourth straight year.
Initiated by the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, the certification recognizes schools that establish and maintain meaningful partnerships with families. A comprehensive assessment process aligned to a set of standards guides schools interested in pursuing the voluntary certification.
For Baker Intermediate, it’s a four-year distinction, and Principal Josh Mounts gives credit to the staff.
"Receiving this certification for the fourth consecutive year is a powerful recognition and a direct testament to the tireless dedication of our teachers and staff,” he said. “They work tremendously hard to meet the needs of our students and actively ensure a meaningful partnership with our families and the wider community.”
The Family Friendly standards are centered around ensuring families feel valued as partners in education. Once the certification is earned, Prichard provides schools with clear benchmarks and resources to improve family engagement.
“It’s a powerful reflection of Baker Intermediate’s dedication to students, families, and the broader community,” said Brigitte Blom, president and CEO of the Prichard Committee.
Principal Mounts said the honor is shared with the district as a whole. “Strong family engagement boosts student achievement, attendance, and overall school climate,” he said. “This recognition speaks not only to the great family partnerships happening at Baker Intermediate, but also at Clark County Public Schools as a whole."
