A huge CCPS congratulations to our Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) students for their outstanding showings at the state competition held at Central Bank Center and Rupp Arena.

They represented ALL of the six competencies of the Portrait of a Clark County Learner while shining with creativity, leadership, and collaboration.

"I am so proud of how well our students did this year at state," said Jennifer Turley, a district STLP lead and elementary coach. "Our students are growing so much as students, leaders, and experts in their areas.  It was a great day to celebrate all of their accomplishments."

Ms. Turley said STLP is about more than technology. "We aim to help students learn how combine all of their knowledge from all subject areas and be leaders in their field," she said. "Students have the opportunity to learn digital skills through creating Creative Digital Arts, competing in live challenges in areas such as drones, robots, and coding, and presenting projects where students showcase the work they have been doing to be leaders in their area.  It really encompasses all of the elements of Clark County's Portrait of a Learner."

Congratulations to the following students on their state accomplishments:

Kate Chamberlain and Adalyn Noland, 4th graders at Strode Station, are the 2025 STLP K-5 State Champions in the Sphero Hero Competition. Their story of a young astronaut, Skylar, who fought for her survival on the moon, beat out 47 other schools.

Gillian McClellan, a sophomore at GRC,  won 1st place in the Book Cover division in Creative Digital Arts.

FFA seniors Cole Horn, Abby Horn, and Ethan Tuttle placed in the top 20 projects in the state with Selling School Spirit.

Smoke Signals seniors Anna Barnes, Meredith Boone, McKinley Hacker, and Caroline Harper placed in the top 50 projects in the state with Win-Win-Win Collaboration.

The following students were finalists in their divisions (duplicate names indicate they had more than one project in state):

Heidi Castle, Layla Snell, Allison Asherwood, Olivia Warner, Heiraelle Osborne, Jessica Moran-Lora, Anna Barnes, Meredith Boone, Lydia Allen, Miles Brandenburg, Emily Howton, Jane Sutherland, Saul Sebulsky, Cameron Fuller, and Wyatt Jones. Rayleigh Hisle and Emmersyn Wills from Shearer Elementary competed in the live challenges for Sphero Hero.

Several schools sent groups to experience the amazing showcase of interactive games and displays that provide a digital playground instead of just a competition.

From elementary to high school, our students' teamwork and innovation shined on the state stage.

Sophomore Gillian McClellan won 1st place in Book Cover Design.
