As a new school year quickly approaches, CCPS coaches came together for the annual Athletic Department Coaches Meeting to connect, align expectations, and prepare for the year ahead.
Athletic Director Terry Yeast said the purpose of the gathering is to ensure everyone is equipped with the information and support needed for success.
“This is our opportunity to bring all members of the athletic department and head coaches together with Central Office staff to make sure we are prepared to get our student-athletes ready for the upcoming school year,” Yeast said.
With representatives from CCPS finance, transportation, technology, student support, maintenance, human resources, and communications, along with athletic trainers and district administrators, the meeting emphasized collaboration across the district.
"It's so beneficial for our coaches and athletics leaders that district representatives take time out of their busy summer schedule to come and spend a couple hours with us," Yeast said. "We have a top-notch administrative team."
Between RDC and GRC, CCPS offers approximately 40 KHSAA-sanctioned sports, making coordination and communication key to continued success.
"Another great benefit of this gathering is for our coaches to get to know who they're working with," Yeast said. "We are one district and so it is absolutely important that we are all on the same page and focused on the same goal, which is Growing Greatness."
