Sparks named CKEC Educator of the Year

Olivia Sparks has been named Educator of the Year by the Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative, an honor recognizing her impact in the classroom and her dedication to students.
“My initial reaction to the award was shock, because I could think of multiple people I would honor before myself,” Ms. Sparks said. “I am a product of the educators I work with every day, who have taught me what it means to be extraordinary. I am genuinely humbled to be able to represent our district with this award and it's something I do not take lightly.”
Ms. Sparks emphasized that her work is deeply rooted in the relationships she builds with students each day.
“My favorite thing about teaching is cliché, but true – I love the kids,” she said. “Celebrating huge victories but also being there as a safe space on difficult days, is equally a gift. I feel blessed to be in the position I am in and to serve in this community.”
