A group of RDC students had lunch at The View this week with veterans from the community as part of the Partners in Education Be A Man program.
The BAM program provides mentors for young men through various programs that help them develop strong character, leadership skills, and personal responsibility.
The value of PIE to our district’s work is invaluable. Thank you to the following veterans for giving their time to make a difference in the lives of these young men: Ed Burtner, Jerry Cecil, Dee Burke, Reggie Youngblood and Dewey Pope.
“Our young men left excited about the experiences and the advice shared with them,” said RDC Assistant Principal Tom Swart. “As a school we are thrilled that our students were able to have this experience to learn and grow as future leaders of their community.”
BAM is just one of many amazing programs our schools and community partners offer to help support the personal and academic achievement of our students.
