Women in Business Luncheon: Showing Up With Purpose
An afternoon of conversation and connection gave women from across the community a chance to pause, reflect, and consider what it means to show up with purpose.
The first annual Women in Business Luncheon was held Wednesday, National Women in Business Day, with nearly 100 women in attendance.
Nationally recognized speaker and leadership coach Colene Eldridge challenged the group to think beyond what they want to accomplish and consider who they want to be, both in their work and in their lives.
Sponsored by the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce and hosted by CCPS, the event was the first in a series the Chamber hopes to continue.
Eldridge began her message with a simple question: What energy do you want to bring into the room?
Attendees named qualities such as curiosity, positivity, confidence, openness, and authenticity as they considered how they wanted to show up.
She encouraged the group to focus on who they want to be, rather than waiting for accomplishments or circumstances to determine how they feel about themselves.
Eldridge shared how this mindset helped her navigate the uncertainty of 2020, when her speaking business suddenly came to a halt.
By choosing to see herself as a problem-solver, she took action and launched free virtual leadership workshops that opened new doors for her business.
She reminded attendees that meaningful change doesn't have to happen all at once.
Start small. Let go of perfectionism. Track your wins. And don't wait until you're 100% ready to say yes.
Eldridge encouraged women to embrace a “B+ lifestyle” and give A+ effort to the things that truly matter.
She closed with a message of self-belief, asking attendees to turn to someone beside them and say, “You are worthy of good things.”
Partnering with the Chamber to bring the Women in Business Luncheon to the Cardinal Community Center puts our vision, “Connecting the district and community as one,” into action.
CCPS Food Services provided the meal for the event at the Hannah McClure Cardinal Community Center.
