It’s not every day that staff get to sit down for breakfast with the superintendent, but a group of classified employees recently joined Superintendent Dustin Howard for a morning of good food, open conversation, and real connection.
About 15 behind-the-scenes heroes who keep our schools running smoothly every single day shared a little about themselves, shouted out their co-workers, and offered ideas for improvement.
Mr. Howard simply listened and learned.
“I started these breakfasts because I believe everyone in this district deserves to be heard,”
he said. “Our classified staff are the backbone of our schools, and their insight helps us make this district a better place for students and staff alike.”
The breakfast was the first of this school year, continuing a tradition that began after Mr. Howard became superintendent. Board of Education member Paula Thomas also attended.
“We will address every concern and we appreciate every shoutout,” Mr. Howard said. “Learning doesn’t happen in isolation. From bus drivers to counselors to instructional assistants to teachers, success is built together. It was a fantastic morning connecting with valued members of our team.”
