As we recognize Kentucky Safe Schools Week, we want to highlight the strong relationship between Clark County Public Schools and our local emergency services agencies.
Superintendent Dustin Howard and other CCPS representatives were featured presenters at this month’s meeting of the Winchester/Clark County Emergency Management group. The meeting brought together leaders from across the community, including law enforcement, fire services, local government, public health, and state emergency preparedness agencies.
The partnership between our schools and emergency operations teams is essential. Our collaboration enhances coordination, strengthens emergency preparedness, and ensures the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families.
“The true purpose of the emergency services meetings is to build partnerships with our community leaders,” said Emergency Management Director Perri Wilson. “This is especially true with our friends in education. When we encounter an event in our community requiring all hands on deck, our school partners are essential, from transportation and sheltering, to securing volunteers.”
We are grateful for the dedicated individuals and agencies working with us keep our schools and community safe.
