The GRC Stadium field was bursting with energy in a whole new way Thursday as the beloved District-Wide Field Day tradition of years past returned.

All third and fourth graders from Conkwright, Justice, Shearer, and Strode gathered for a day of fun and games that kicked off with a staff relay.

“Field Day brings the excitement of teamwork and togetherness, uniting all our schools in the spirit of community and district pride,” says Kelly Fithen, Assistant Superintendent. “This special day celebrates the joy of coming together – students, staff, and schools – as one big district family.”

With 800 students and 100 staff members from the four schools wearing team colors – red, blue, green, and yellow -- the energetic day was packed with races, hula hoop challenges, tennis ball throws, and tons of other fun.

CCPS Instructional Specialist and Field Day Coordinator Amber Murphy was happy with how the day went. “It was so great seeing the kids come together and show their school spirit,” she said. “Seeing so many smiles and hearing the cheers and laughter made the day special.”

Shoutout to everyone who helped make the District Field Day a huge success!
