True teamwork and community spirit was on display this week as RDC softball, GRC softball, and GRC baseball players helped our local STRIDE athletes prepare for their state tournament this weekend with a friendly, high-energy scrimmage.
Organized by RDC Softball Coach Gail Bryan, the game showcased not only athleticism and competitive drive, but more importantly, celebrated character, connection, and the pure joy of the game.
“I saw athletes moved to tears — not from defeat, but from the overwhelming emotion of being part of something bigger than themselves,” said Coach Bryan. “The joy, the pride, the connection… it was raw and real. Our players didn’t just show up — they poured their hearts into every play, every cheer, every moment.”
Shoutout to all athletes and coaches who made this possible, along with the great crowd that showed up to support these incredible athletes. Best of luck to STRIDE as they head to the state tournament this weekend!
